From Rio de Janeiro, Mark was scouted whilst playing beach football and was signed by Santos. He had two fantastic seasons and was on his way to a call up to the full national squad, after having played for the Brazilan Under 21s, when disaster stuck. A serious cruciate ligament injury caused his Brazilian dream to slip away and he signed for Warbury when other clubs seemed unwilling to take him.
